The oneworld lounge was created to offer competitive amenities for first and business class travelers through a technology-centered environment. I designed, specified, and documented every AV system in the lounge, then oversaw the integration through bid and commissioning. AV technology is present from the main entry throughout the space, blending seamlessly into the clean architectural design.

Video Art Wall
The architect had originally envisioned a live jellyfish tank at the lounge entrance. Space restrictions required an alternative, and the result is a 3x3 video art display. This became a theme throughout the lounge, with a second video art display in the private shower corridor and television displays that double as video art when not in use.
Audio Systems
Background music was an important aspect of the lounge, and the owners wanted something beyond typical music services. I specified an internet-based music server providing custom themed music for each zone, automatically downloading a new selection of audio files each night to keep the programming fresh.
The paging system required a T-coil loop for hearing assistance. I designed a phased array loop system to deliver consistent field strength across the full lounge — a demanding problem in a space with irregular geometry and significant metal in the structure, where a conventional single-loop design would have left dead zones and spill.
Video Displays
I distributed video displays throughout the lounge on a central routing system carrying television feeds, video art, and flight information (FIDS). The displays were carefully integrated with the architecture — the bar displays were fitted with custom bezels color matched by the interior designer.
Control Systems
The owner also turned to the AV team for a number of custom solutions. One was a signaling panel used by cleaning staff to notify the host when private showers are ready for the next guest. I specified the function and integrated it into the control design; AMX programming was executed by the installing contractor.
