The Mohegan Sun is a premier entertainment and gaming facility in Uncasville, CT. The 2007 upgrades to the background music and paging system were designed and programmed by the applicant. The system provides control of 196 zones utilizing a Media Matrix NION processing core and distributed QSC BASIS nodes. The project utilizes a Cisco network infrastructure and Cobranet for digital audio transport between the various amplifier rooms.
Updates began in 2015 to upgrade the system to Qsys. The 275,000 sq/ft. ballroom and meeting spaces were the first to receive the upgrades.
A inmportant need for the end users was scheduling of music sources and volume levels. A custom application was developed to integrate the familiar Outlook calender interface with the complex background music system. The result is the Outlook Calendar Command Interface (OCCI). This application allows users to schedule events in outlook, then using a custom VB integrated form create various music and volume scenes within the event.
