Animation Theater
The premier screening space for Walt Disney's original animation studio.
Renovated in 2020, the system was the first at the studio to use Q-SYS for both audio processing and full system control. The audio and control systems are complemented by a high-performance AV routing and KVM system using SDVoE. Together these systems meet the exacting requirements of the studio.
Full Dolby Atmos audio was added in 2023, including integration with Pro Tools Atmos renders delivered from remote audio mixing suites over Dante. Remote 9.1.6 reviews from Skywalker Sound were also enabled through a proprietary streaming platform built in collaboration with partner teams, for which I designed the integration and workflow.

The theater has since been used as a model across the Disney Studio enterprise to showcase successful implementation of Q-SYS Control and SDVoE.
The renovations also included a new ETC theatrical lighting system for live events, with standard LED theatrical and house fixtures alongside custom accent fixtures. Projection mapping on the walls dynamically changes the look of the theater for different events.
Screening Room
A state-of-the-art screening room, fully DCI compliant and built to Dolby specifications for sound. Beyond screenings and daily reviews, the room supports marketing presentations, lectures, and other events.
The room features Q-SYS audio DSP, Crestron control, all-LED DMX entertainment lighting, and projection mapping.
Voice Talent Recording Studio
The voice talent recording studio is a premier venue for world-class talent, used regularly to record voice performances for Feature Animation, Pixar, Disneytoon, Marvel, Television Animation, and more.
Tuning the room required advanced evaluation and testing of isolated electrical systems, acoustical noise, and electroacoustic performance using EASERA. This precision engineering produced a neutral, noise-free acoustic environment.
The systems also feature advanced video matrix routing, multi-camera video recording, 4K video windowing, DMX and Art-Net lighting control, and system automation using Crestron. I also designed a dynamic timecode and status display: wide-aspect displays driven both by the operator and by inputs from the Pro Tools recording system, showing SMPTE timecode, feet+frames, time of day, or status alone — recording, playback, talkback active, or stopped.
Remote Vendor Collaboration Suite
This unique space provides a precision calibrated color and lighting review room which also connects to overseas vendors. A Cisco SX80 CODEC provides the primary audio and video connection to the remote site. Critical content is stored at both sites and playback with annotation is synchronized using RV Sync.
Specialized low light cameras allow the far site to see local participants even when the lights are turned off. QSys audio DSP is used to provide acoustic echo cancellation and 7.1 audio processing.
