Logic Architect provided Q-SYS and Crestron programming and network configuration for the Academy Museum's audiovisual systems, spanning the David Geffen and Ted Mann Theaters, event spaces, classrooms, and building-wide music and paging.
The theaters run everything from Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision to silent film accompanied by live organ, with every legacy digital and analog format in between. The control system serves as master control for sound, lighting, curtains, masking, and projection. Programmed in collaboration with Dolby Laboratories.
The work required development beyond standard integration. I wrote custom Crestron modules for precise control of the Soundweb DSP, DCP playback, and communication with a PLC to drive the curtain and masking systems. I also wrote custom firmware for the Dolby CAT868 volume controller, enabling precise level control from the Crestron system.
Reel changeovers were a true challenge, melding a modern digital control system with restored Norelco AAII film projectors. We verified the digital transitions on an oscilloscope to confirm the Crestron system introduced no unnecessary processing delay, coordinating projection and audio through the changeover with the precision archival film presentation demands.

The Crestron Touch panel is embedded in a custom designed control panel with physical IO buttons, all tied into the Crestron Controller.
The Dolby Cat868 firmware was provided by Dolby and modified by me using a PIC2 programmer. This allowed precision control of the master volume in Soundweb via Crestron.
